The company VIMOSA d.o.o. was founded in 2006 as a continuation of a small business Elektromehanika Vinko Požek s.p. Vinko Požek established his business in 1987 which at the time depended on the production of electric band heaters as spare parts for plastic moulding machines. After a year he was approached by customers to solve heating problems with a wider range of shapes and designs of heating elements so he intensively worked on the development of all kinds of heaters and new technologies.
Slovenian independence brought about a considerable change of market and forced Vinko Požek to adjust to new circumstances. At a specialized fair he was approached by a producer of fuel filters who was looking for a heater for a new type of filter. He took on the challenge and in three years managed to develop a heater according to the requirements. In 1999 Vinko Požek was awarded Zlati ceh – an award of the Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia for innovation for this heater.
Due to increasing market demands the company moved to new premises with extended production facilities and administrative space, invested into new products and increased the number of employees. At the same time the company’s system was adjusted to the quality standard ISO 9001:2000, successfully upgraded in 2010 to ISO 9001:2008.
Parallel to the development and growth of production of heaters for the producer of filters, the company invested knowledge, energy and funds into an expanded production of all other kinds of heaters of high quality which took on the leading role in the company’s production during the recession years. A special type of heaters was developed for the heating of drills; at the same time VIMOSA became one of the few Slovene producers of high performance cartridge heaters and tubular heaters of large diameters. The company’s orientation has also increasingly become that of offering whole thermal solutions for heating problems in all kinds of environments.
